Preethi Zodiac MG 218 750-Watt Mixer Grinder (Black/Light Grey)It’s a real looker..So I really wanted to replace my old mixer (Preethi Blue Leaf) and I was keeping an eye for this product for the past 6 months at least. Finally I bought it. First impression was AWESOME!! It looks really good.It was individually well wrapped on plastic bag and kept in a cardboard hosting. I am pretty sure that it was meant to protect it while shipping.So I started unwrap the bag and tried to assemble the jars and the bottom assembly (motor), I find that the jars are kind of dirty with some dust and smells like a ‘factory’ (probably it might have picked up from the manufacturing facility). So first thing first, I washed them individually using soapy warm water by hand and then rinse it with the motor running on normal water and everything was cleared and no foul smell. (I believe that Preethi should have taken care of this from their manufacturing facility itself) Not a deal breaker.Bottom Assembly (Motor Casing)***************************************It has a wide bottom and meant for stability with rubber holder (esp. while kneading atta using Master Chef jar), which does it’s job. Comparing to the Blue Leaf I had before, the air went is at the bottom (Good thing) so that if the jar is over flowing/leaking during grinding water seeping into the motor is minimal.It has two light indicator, one at the speed knob and other just below that, it lights Blue. It runs relatively quiet compares to Blue Leaf. (Good thing)I kind of felt that the knob is cheap. It is wobbly and it is not sturdy as Preethi Blue Leaf. It is the frequently used thing on the mixer and I don’t know why Preethi would go for a cheap looking/feeling wobble speed knob. It was just a turn off for the whole product. I saw that my product was manufactured on March 2017 as per the box (This product was released on April 2016 as per Amazon) and they haven’t fixed/noticed it (Very Bad).Motor coupler looks not really strong either. (If you’re wondering what motor coupler is, it’s the small white rotating thing that drives the jar). It just got four teeth and I kind of have a feeling that it will broke, if you run it with a heavy load (grinding turmeric/whole wheat) (Very Bad). Blue Leaf had 6 teeth on it’s coupler. I will update the review if the coupler is broken.Rating: 2/5Master Chef Jar*******************This is one the jar that was advertised heavily on this mixer.Well, Is it gonna replace your food processor? Read on.Mater Chef jar comes with it’s own set of accessories.Grating and slicing bladeBeater and chopping bladeCitrus juice extractor.It was marked up to 1500ML as the maximum volume. However, if you run this with 500ML water, it just over flows! So the actual liquid volume is little over 400ML, when you run the jar with liquid in it, it just climbs the side and over flows.. So watch out. (Bad)The slicing blade came with just one size. How you’re going to make thick/thin slices with just one blade? (Bad) I am not sure if there are different size blades available for purchase separately, if yes, please put that in the comment section below.Preethi ships just the grating/slicing blade where you can attach to a disc. The scary part is that I almost cut myself while trying to change the blade. You really need to watch out while changing the blade.(Horrible Design Flaw)There is a gear assembly on the Master Chef jar to reduce the torque (rotating speed) on this jar. And the gear assembly is poorly designed (how???), It just create a very loud uncomfortable noise. It is really loud that I hate to use the whole jar.. What a bummer!!So to answer the first question. Will this replace your food processor?? Hell NO!!Rating: 3/5Juicer Jar***********The 3-in-1 Insta Fresh Fruit Juicer Jar is another hyped jar. It comes with two sets of blade and a pusher. It really extract juices out of apples, Grapes, pomegranate etc really well. You can use the spout to extract the juice instantly or you can draw it from the jar itself. (Good thing)Cleaning can be a daunting task as it got several parts. So I try to use only when I need to use this for larger quantities or when some special occasions.Other Jars************It got other three Stainless Steel jars. (Big, Medium and Small). I just love them. They looks really good and build perfectly. I really like the small jar (Chutney Jar), which now got a handle! (Really Good thing)Rating: 5/5Conclusion:**************This mixer is not dish washer friendly, which means that you need to hand wash this everytime. Juice extract jar will be a pain to use as it got too many little stuffs to clean. Come on Preethi, it’s 2017.. You need to start making products that are compatible with a dish washer.Do I still recommend this product? Yes, only if you’re looking for a good mixer grinder, with multi-functions.But if you already have a food processor or you have Preethi Blue Leaf or anything similar, then don’t upgrade to Zodiac, it is not worth it and you may not be able to get the real value for money out of it.Overall Rating: 3/5—————————Edit: 1Please don’t get me wrong. Though I have rated this mixer 3/5, it is still one of the best mixer that you can get in the market.It has a very powerful motor. Please check the available Service Center for your city/town on Preethi website and just give them a ring, before you click Add to Cart, just to make sure they are there!!)Edit 2:My observation about the Motor coupler (white cap thing that drives the jar blades) was right… Finally it really broke down.. Luckily I was able to get it fixed by the authorized repair outlet in Chennai before the second lockdown!!You wouldn’t believe how much it costs me to fix it… Rs. 17!! yeah… I gave them Rs. 20 note and he even gave my change!!I am increasing the star to 4, just for the splendid after sales service of Preeti after 4 years!!

Being Phillips fan, ( Philips trimmer purchased earlier is working great even after a year of use. I am using it for hair cut ) I ordered this and delivered within a week. I ordered multiple items regularly from amazon earlier but First time I received outer Amazon cartoon damaged. And the reason is outer cartoon is double size of that of Phillips box which leaves lots of empty space in the cartoon which causes damage to the cartoon during transportation.Phillips box is intact. Received all the items unbroken.Quality of material – I have used 2 Phillips food processors earlier in Dubai. Comparatively quality of plastic in this food processor is cheap. ( I didn’t expect that from Phillips at this price range) Sharp edges inside one of the lid. Handle quality of chef jar looks ordinary. Locking of lid is not so smooth.Noise level – Noise level is bit on higher side but bearable considering it’s 750 Watts machine.Power – it’s motor is powerful and 750 Watts are enough to perform most of the operations smoothly.Atta kneading – that’s the main purpose of buying this machine and I think it performs well. Atta kneading took just less than 2 minutes. It works really fast.. This is first day review. I will update this review time to time to give you clear idea about this machine.Update 24/08/21 :I found it difficult to remove the additional motor provided for main chef’s jar from base unit. In other model which I have used earlier, this motor was attached to the main jar and it was non removable and also waterproof. But in this model we cannot wash that motor part and it’s really very difficult to remove from base unit.Phillips should consider this point and provide additional small handle type part to the motor with which it will be easy to rotate that motor easily. Or some lock should be provided to the motor and main jarEdit 07 March 23 : -almost after 2 years.Earlier I talked about problem in removing additional motor provided for main chef’s jar. So I booked complaint with Philips and they send the technician immediately. After inspection he said that he will replace the motor. But he didn’t have that motor with him so he told that he will bring it later. But then I received a sms from Philips that my complaint is attended and problem is resolved. So I again book a new complaint with Philips. This time technician brings a new motor and replaced it. This motor was also little difficult to remove but better than the first one so we kept it.We are using this food processor regularly and it’s still working good. Jars are still in good condition. ( I thought the atta kneading jar will not lasts longer but I was wrong. It’s still working good.)Wife used juicer jar to extract fruit juice and it works good.So overall a good product.

The media could not be loaded.  To be honest I read a lot of reviews before selecting this model. Whatever models I checked in this price range had a few negative reviews with similar complaints- cheap quality, cover doesn’t stay, broken/damaged product received etc. Finally chose this because of the Prestige brand and the marking of Amazon’s choice. Unfortunately, it was a waste of time.I returned it without using so can’t comment about usage experience but this was my experience- first time I opened the box, took out thw spatula and the cover that was placed at the top and immediately decided to order a replacement. They were full of dirt, and looked used.The replacement delivery and pickup of the old package happened at the same time. I opened the new package and then realised the old package also was misaing the user guide cum warranty card! The new package on the other hand looked new but was missing the spatula. Not a big deal for me but the delivery person suggested me to keep the spatula from the old package.I wish I checked the quality of the product first time itself. When I was unpacking the mixer I was surprised how cheap and low quality it can possibly be! But at the end when I lifted the main mixer unit that was the final nail. There was some loose part moving inside it. I’ve attached a video, not sure if the sound can be heard or not. I called Amazon who suggested to use it and try to see if it is working or not as I had 10 days to return. But after deliberation I decided to return it unused. Even if it worked, a moving part near motor is an accident in the making. I was surprised that in the box someone signed the quality checked ok stamp! If this is OK tested quality from Prestige I’ll rather avoid that brand.I read in few reviews people suggesting that companies are making special low quality product to sell online with low price point and standard ones for ofdline sell. I’m starting to believe that and will buy the mixer after physically checking that.However it will be unfair if I don’t mention how helpful Amazon was , they actually insisted me to leave a review so that they can adjust their recommendations and can alao take steps against the seller for delivering below par goods.At the end, I noticed one generic problem with every single mixer I checked even in high range products from Philips/Bosch. At least for the chatney jar and some time for all jars they are leaving exposed screws inside the jars. These ridges will accumulate leftover food particles which will be practically impossible to clean and hence this isn’t hygienic.

It’s a good product, I personally didn’t find it to be as loud as the other review said. It’s about as loud as any other brand. One drawback is the blade on the most miniature mixie jar. The blade design does not handle coconut well often leaving lumps in the jar. This problem is eliminated when using the medium-sized jar. I also had an older prestige jar which fit perfectly with this one so I just stopped using the smaller jar in this. Do note that this is a simple product, i.e it will run even if there is no jar so please be careful and do not let small children near this.

The mixer is good option for people who are frustrated with the high noise other mixer grinder makes.The look is good but the only problem was the plastic cover of the jars. It has lot of scratches due to poor workmanship.Other than that the product is good to go.

1. The mixer’s motor noise levels are very low (very much lower than our 750W mixer). Mostly you will hear grinding noise only. Every mixer makes grinding noise which is different than mixer’s motor noise. If you want completely silent mixer means low grinding noise as well, then it is not possible with this mixer.2. It uses bldc 485W machine hence there is no issue while operating it using inverter power.3. Once you get used to with its safety mechanism then there will be no problem in smooth operation. Mostly new user get confused because of lockig mechanism, they assume that mixer is not working properly and try to switch on and off machine couple of time, which may lead to error signal. Simply restarting it solves the error signal problem.4. Handsfree usage of chutteny jar is not possible, as it may open while you are operating a machine(same like our old mixer 😜 no issues with it as we habitual the situation).5. Chopper works perfectly.

Claim is 485 W BLDC equivalent to 1000 W BDC motor, but it’s not. It’s more likely equal to 700 W regular motors. Coconut grinding is poor. But other normal tasks it does well. Dosa batter was good, should work for idli batter as well. All other features are good, except heavy duty. I personally like the product.

This is regarding the amazon order for Prestige Mixer. We had initially raise a concern that the internal alignment of motor in the mixer was not in place and completely out dislocated. But as per sellers instructions, we used it the way it was. Secondly, the juicer jar which was sent along with the mixer – when we first used it according to the instructions- it entirely broke from down though it wasn’t overloaded. We then too let it go. Thirdly, when using the mixer yesterday, the regulator switch is dislocated and not functioning.These are the repeated issues we have faced and feels like damaged or rejected product has been sent over to us. Now this product is of no use to us and we need to purchase another mixer and spend additional.

The chopper jar is the best. Jar seemed a bit tight but i guess it’s because of the locking features. Overall good product at the given price point. The mixxer is very compact in design as well as looks very premium. Have been using it for over a week or two the performance is good slowmode gives good texture and regular mode turn everything into fine powder. I liked the product. The main thing which attracted me to buy was the slow juicing it is great all the seeds are not grinded

Motor is unbelievably powerful. Electronic speed control hence performance is not affected by load or supply voltage. Accessories also sturdy and good quality.BLDC technology is very energy efficient so we can use easily on home inverter and PC UPS too. Slow speed function is very useful and not available in other brands

My very first purchase from the house of Sujata. I researched high and low for a new mixer grinder after my 27 years old Usha was given away (it still worked!) and my final two picks were Panasonic and Sujata. Both these brands are high on quality, durability and workmanship. I’ve read reviews of many people owning them for more than a decade; although Sujata mixers running continuously have the highest number i.e. of 30+ years!I wanted an upgrade on both quality and wattage from my previous single jar 750 watt Usha. Panasonic didn’t have a very high wattage with their highest model fixed on 750 watts; the Monster model which I found quite nice. I read quite a few reviews of people complaining of the lid locking system not sitting right, because of which the grinder wouldn’t run. This was a kicker. Buying their lid alone isn’t very cheap, plus any locking mechanism failure will render the whole unit unusable. I was willing to overlook this, but the repairing costs after the warranty period was the deal-breaker for me. The parts are not readily available and the repairing isn’t easy and cheap. I was obviously looking for a long time gig in the mixer purchase, so I wasn’t too happy on these parameters. Another not-so-important reason was the option of adding a third-party food processor attachment. No such attachments are currently available in the market for Panasonic, which was a bummer!Sujata scored on quality, robustness, longevity, parts availability and third-party attachment options. I purchased the Dynamix for Rs.5790 and supplemented it with the robust aluminium-base Frootmix blender jar from Flipkart for Rs.915, together costing me Rs. 6705 which worked out to be a great deal. I had first ordered the Supermix model and ordered the large 1500ml steel jar separately, but upon more research, I found out that the middle 1 litre jar of both the Dynamix and Supermix models are not the same, contrary to my assumption. One reviewer on YT found the Dynamix jar weighed heavier (by 30grams), had a wider lip, wider lid brim, thicker rubber gasket and flow breakers on the body, which are all absent on the Supermix jar. I found this out just in time and could cancel the order in transit and promptly ordered the Dynamix along with the Frootmix blender jug.The product quality is sublime. You can easily see the commitment to quality by Sujata. The sincerity and abundance with which they make their original parts available (of the entire motor and all attachments) online and offline reminds me of the good old Maruti 800 car. Any problem with it and the nearest mechanic would easily find the right part at a great cost and repair it in a jiffy! I’m glad companies like Sujata are maintaining their quality and robustness for the last 45 years (Usha grinders were great in the 80s, and early 90s, but since the 2000s, their mixers are not as robust and long lasting as before).I first ground a 2kg mixture of dry fruits, which also consisted of fox nuts and 250gm of rock hard babool gum (or gond). I was done in less than 12 minutes! I was a little apprehensive about the gum as I usually fry it in ghee and then grind it, which makes it softer and fluffier and easier to grind. But this time I decided to test the grinder with the rock-hard pieces as is. I divided the quantity in 2 smaller portions and replaced the dome lid with a small steel lid as the gum pieces will initially be cut up and flung with a lot of force, potentially causing cracks or deep scratches on the original lid, and I wasn’t taking a chance with this new baby. I pulsed the machine for a few seconds, then ran it on the lowest speed, stopping every few seconds. There was a noisy racket inside the jar! But after a few seconds, the hard gond turned into a fine shiny powder and there was no spillage on the lip whatsoever. What a success! I then used the small chutney jar to make a simple chutney and it was a delightful experience. The chutney was smooth and silky and although I didn’t lock the lid with the clips provided and only held the lid down firmly, nothing spilled out on the outer rim.The motor sound is bearable and cannot be categorised as loud. It sounds smooth and supple. The wire is long and every part is thoughtfully made. The latest black option is also available which is priced around nearly 1000rs higher than the normal white model, but Sujata hasn’t released any separate black coloured attachment or part for this model which can lead to a colour mismatch if an additional jar/jug/lid is purchased later on.All in all, my Sujata experience has been great and I’ll come back and update my adventures with it. I would wholeheartedly recommend this brand to anyone looking to buy a mixer/grinder.

Quality is not that mark as good what expected

I’ve been using this for 3 months now.The Really bad:The blender jar has a major flaw. If you use it for blending (I have tried lassi, milkshake, smoothies), liquid spills out from the spout when running. I scheduled a warranty service but the technician told me that this jar is only for juicing and the metal jar is for bending. I concluded that it’s a design flaw which Bosch is unwilling to admit. The metal jar can be used for blending, but its small if you’re blending for 3-4 people. This would have been a dealbreaker if I knew this beforehand as I blend a lot.Bad but manageable:1) The metal jar lids are weirdly shaped and lots of liquid gets stuck in it, so you end up wasting a little bit of whatever you’re making. The lids are also much more messy than a regular dome lid and also a little tougher to clean.2) The small cap in the lid for adding things is really loose. You have to be careful when turning the lid upside down or it falls and breaks.3) Food gets stuck in the flow breaker. It’s also not very intuitive to remove and I have a feeling it will be easily broken by the househelp when cleaning.4) Flow breaker and the pounding blade don’t make a noticeable difference to the end result, and I have completely stopped using them.The Good:1) Great looking and has a small footprint2) Noise levels aren’t bad. A 1000 W motor will definitely be louder than a 400 W one (typical home mixie wattage) but even then it’s not super loud and is very manageable.3) Very, very powerful. Pulverises anything you throw at it instantly.

The grinder is very noisy. Using it for sometime now, the grinding quality is not great! It is not able to gring properly small coconut pieces. Motor quality may be good since its Phillips, but blades could have been better.

The media could not be loaded.  This carrot was finely minced in less than 5 seconds. Just 2 short pulses.Yes, the grinder is a bit loud, but I don’t care as long as it is performing so well.Pls note that one of the lids was damaged during the 1st delivery.So, I got the machine and all the accessories replaced immediately. Replacement was quick. This piece is working like a charm.

I’m writing this review after a year of using Cookwell’s blender and mixer, and I must say it’s an excellent machine from a great company with outstanding customer service. After a year of use, I noticed a burning smell coming from the machine. However, a quick call to customer support resolved the issue. Since it was still under warranty, they promptly replaced it, and the new machine is working perfectly. The blender is very reasonably priced and versatile, making it perfect for everything from making coffee and chutneys to smoothies. I’m extremely happy with both the product and the customer service.

I bought this on Jun 2024 and hardly used this blender. Now it stopped working all of sudden and the buyer says that they cant refund or offer replacement as the date of purchase is more than 30 days. Never buy this blender.

Whether it’s dry grinding, making chutneys, or preparing juices, it delivers reliable results.However, there’s one long-standing issue that still hasn’t been addressed—the paint at the bottom side of the jars tends to peel off easily. This isn’t a new problem either; I had heard about it even before my purchase, and it still seems to persist. The peeling paint makes the jars look worn out and poorly maintained, even if you’ve taken good care of them. You can’t repaint it either, which makes it a cosmetic letdown. It might be related to heat generated during usage, but it’s something Sujatha really needs to improve.Overall, if performance is your main concern, this is an excellent choice. But if you care about long-term aesthetics, especially with the jar’s finish, this is something to keep in mind. A great product with room for small but important improvements.

I’ve purchased this product on 7th Aug 2024, within 6 months i got the coupler of both chutney jar and mixer getting damaged. This coupler made of nylon and gets damaged very easily. Moreover noise is getting increased day by day. The chutney jar bottom plate got rusted . Kindly go for better 🙏 product. Regretting that i bought this online.

Very bad product, you have hold the lead everytime while using it otherwise everything comes out of jar. The jar gets hot while using it and it burnt my hand. It makes a lot of noise. Very bad experience. I am not getting help from anywhere to return or replace the product.

However, after a few months, it suddenly stopped working and there was a burnt smell coming from it. I am using this product since 2021 and quality of this product is not bad. But My Chutney grinding bottom part is damaged since I use this jar most of the time. I try to find out the product but its 1400 which is very high. If bottom part of the jar is available somewhere including the blade that will be awesome. I have attached a screenshot which part I need. Please reply if its available or not.
